McCoy’s Animal Rescue · Foster & volunteer

Be the bridge to a forever home

We’re a two-person rescue with more love than laps. Fosters give a rescue dog a home while it heals and waits; volunteers give time, rides, and hands. Both change endings.

Fostering

What fostering involves

A foster dog lives in your home like one of your own — fed, loved, kept safe, and learned about, so we can describe them honestly to adopters. Most stays run a few weeks; some are shorter, and seniors or medical cases can take longer. You tell us what you can handle, and we match the dog to your life, never the other way around.

  • We provide: all vet care, food and supplies, and guidance any hour of the day
  • You provide: a safe home, daily care, and honest notes about the dog
  • You’re never alone: Eric & Crystal are a phone call away, start to finish
Do I need experience with dogs?

Experience helps, but a calm home and a willing heart matter more. We’ll match a first-time foster with an easygoing dog and coach you through it.

What does fostering cost me?

Your time and your love. The rescue covers vet care and supplies — fostering should never be a financial burden on the people kind enough to do it.

How long is a typical foster stay?

Most run a few weeks, until the dog is vetted, ready, and matched. Before you commit, we’ll tell you what we expect for that specific dog — no surprises.

What if I fall in love?

It happens, and it’s the best failure there is. Talk to us — foster families are part of the dog’s story, and we’ll walk through adoption together.

Raise your hand

This starts a conversation, not a contract. We’ll call, talk dogs, and figure out the right first foster together.

We read every message ourselves and reply personally.

Volunteer

Time is a donation too

Not everyone can foster — but almost everyone can do one of these:

  • Transport: rides to Fieldstone Veterinary and back — the unglamorous trip that makes all the care happen
  • Dog time: walking, playing, and socializing rescues so they’re ready for family life
  • Events: extra hands and friendly faces when we’re out in the community
  • Online help: photos, posts, and spreading the word — our animals get adopted by being seen
