Happy Tails

Every Yorkie who heads home in loving arms is a story we’re proud to tell. These are some of ours — puppies and rescues alike, living their best lives with the families who love them.

Riley — and then one more

Riley’s happy send-off with Joe and Sue is a memory we’re proud to share. They were so impressed with their first McCoy puppy that they came back for a second from a later litter.

Both puppies are beloved companions with no plans for breeding — simply two families’ worth of love, twice over. Riley even made the October 2024 cover of Michigan Yorkie Monthly, alongside an interview with Susan and Joe.

A love story before gotcha day

Janene & Hazel

Some love stories start early

Janene couldn’t wait — so before Hazel was old enough to leave, she came out for a visit. She got to meet both of Hazel’s parents, Gemma and Waylon Coal, and hold her tiny girl for the very first time.

And now? Hazel’s home — spoiled rotten, and living her best life.

Cal & Darlene

Sawyer — the senior who got his second chance

Sawyer was found abandoned in a baseball field at eight to ten years old — no vet history, no papers, and a mouthful of painful teeth. At Fieldstone Veterinarian, Dr. Mike gave him the full workup he’d never had: neutering, a complete round of vaccinations including rabies, and every bad tooth extracted.

Then came Cal and Darlene. They text often with updates, and the report is always the same: he’s very, very happy there, and very much loved. Cuddles on the couch, a striped shirt of his own, and all the loving he wants — with plenty given back.

Amy & Elvis

Elvis has left the building — for Battle Creek

Amy came out from Battle Creek and took Elvis home on October 10, keeping his name — some names are just meant to stick. By day two he was already warming up and getting used to his new home, showing off his star sweater like he was born in it.

The updates keep getting better. Amy reports Elvis barked for the first time at his own reflection in the mirror — ferociously, she says — and now spends his days in her home office with her while she works, doing so well. Her words say it best: “I love him so much already!!”
